About the Bureau

On June 8, 1989, the first organizational meeting of the Perry Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Commission was held at Perry City Hall. The first executive director was hired in December of 1989 and the PACVB Commission officially became the PACVB Authority on February 27,1990 upon approval of Georgia governor Joe Frank Harris. The current Welcome Center building was completed and opened to the public in September of 1991.

The PACVB and Welcome Center is a locally operated facility and is not part of the state owned and operated information centers. We are not funded by the State of Georgia; the center is funded by a local hotel/motel tax collected by the City of Perry. Legally, we are a composite part of the City of Perry.

The Welcome Center provides information for tourists on attractions throughout the state of Georgia and is open year-round except on major holidays. The Welcome Center current hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm and Saturdays 10am - 4pm. The center is open on Sundays from 1pm - 5pm  from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Facilities & Meeting Rooms

The PACVB and Welcome Center is a modern, comfortable facility that many traveler's have made their routine place to stop through the years. You are always greeted with southern hospitality and a friendly smile at the Perry Welcome Center! Visitors enjoy the amenities of our beautiful facility including:

• Dump station for RVs

• Free Georgia Maps

Two meeting rooms are also available free of charge for use by non-profit organizations only. All meetings must be approved by the CVB Executive Director and should not be scheduled before or after regular operating hours. Meeting rooms can accommodate up to 25. To schedule a meeting in our facility or to check availability, call 478-988-8000.
